After our stay at the Holiday Inn Coventry South, we will be looking at Holiday Inns much more seriously. The room we had was simply outstanding - we could have easily paid £100 more for a room not nearly as comfortable. Buffett breakfast was included with most of the items we would have wanted. The staff were extremely accommodating, and overall the experience was quite good. Surprising, actually!
On a dual carriageway, so if you are coming from the "wrong" direction, you have to drive a ways to get back over. But it's easy to do. WiFi was at a fee, but even at that the room would have been a bargain. However, we believe strongly that free internet access should now be provided in all hotels with internet capability.
Very short staffed, had to wait @ times
I booked two nights at holiday inn for me and my husband as I was craving for a weekend away, just the two of us. I booked this hotel as the prices seemed reasonable. I was very impressed with the hotel. We were always greeted with a smile and a "hello", always left with a "have a good day" . the staff were extremely helpful, so much so that one member even gave us his toothpaste as we had forgotten ours and the hotel had run out! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for some privacy. the breakfast wasn't very varied but it was enough, the location would suit anyone with a vehicle willing to drive a bit.
A wider variety for breakfast would have gone down well!
the room was very spacious and met all of needs and more. the staff were friendly and very responsive to any requests.
Clean & tidy with excellent staff
Difficult location to get to if you approach it "from the wrong way" Expensive breakfast at £13.95
Staff where amazing - couldn't do enough for you and extremely friendly and cheerful.
In the room there was no listing of meal times etc. only a menu for the restaurant again with no time for the meals. There was no lift to take you upstairs to the bedrooms. I am not disabled but have a heart condition so found the stairs difficult.
We arrived later than expected due to the road being completely closed of due to roadworks. The young lady on the reception was very polite and helpful.. Once we settled the dog we caught up with a friend with the intention of going to the bar for a drink. Unfortunately the bar was closed but after enquiring about their opening hours, the gentleman who was now at reception was very helpful and got us drinks from the bar and added it to our room to be paid on departure. The room was as I requested when booking, on the first floor due to having a dog and a twin as I was sharing with a friend. The room was very spacious and clean. To me the fact that Holiday Inn takes dogs is a major plus. We had travelled down to a dog show in Coventry on the Saturday and I would not hesitate in booking again. I have recommended it to my friends who also show dogs too. A very pleasant experience. Many thanks
The price was fantastic, the rooms spacious, clean and well equipped. Staff helpful and couteous. Food excellent( including cooking a meal for us not listed on the menu). Room quiet, beds comfortable and bathroom showers fantastic. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Cna be a bit awkward if you approach from the wrong direction on the duel carriageway.
Location was good, room clean, staff very friendly
Resteraunt closed, only bar food avalible which was not great quality.
Noisey wedding reception. .Young children running around both on ground foor and upstairs. This did stop whe reported to reception
Quiet,clean,friendly staff and relaxing.
There was a wedding that night. If I had paid full price to stay there I would've complained. It was very noisy, loud music, people shouting and dogs barking until 2.30am. I was a bit surprised the receptionist couldn't give us directions to a village that was just down the road.
The coffee at breakfast was okay.
Internet at almost £13 per day is a joke. Except it's not, it's a rip off !! Get in the real world. They'll be putting meters on the hot tap next ! Not advised for nervous drivers either. A bit of "whacky races" to get in and out !
Staff were friendly and helpful on desk.Staff who made up sofa beds after our arrival were very friendly and apologetic that it hadn't been done before.. Clean. There were several Christmas parties happening, but no disturbance, which was good as accompanying athletics team to National Cross Country Competition. Restaurant area was very pleasant and relaxed.
Felt that the restaurant staff were unprepared for number of guests staying, seemed understaffed and stressed- rushing around.Food was good though buffet was cold. One staff member needed some hints on personal hygiene - ie.washing. Breakfast was plentiful - though things like bowls not there,no orange juice available, waiting for baked beans ,no cups on the table made it a little frustrating.
